Every so often a project comes along that just lights you up inside, this was one of those. Mr and Mrs Collinson of Porthcawl set the ultimate challenge to transform their dark oak and granite kitchen into a light and spacious room. Key requirements included large amounts of storage and increased workspace for food preparation. This was more than a kitchen design and installation project. This was a full ground floor refurbishment, with the Your Space Living team involved in every detail. Feel free to check out the installation images on this page for more detail. This project needs little in the way of explanation, the pictures speak for themselves.
This stunning bay window was a key feature of the room. During the refurbishment, it was discovered that essential insulation material was missing from the wall cavity. Mr and Mrs Collinson had been complaining for years about the draughts. The wall was subsequently insulated correctly before the refurbishment of the seating area. The granite table was a bespoke element, designed and built from scratch by one of the UK’s best cabinet maker under the guidance of Jo Buckerfield.
This full refurbishment included the adjacent lounge, which was accessed through a set of double doors from the kitchen. The colour scheme, blinds and decoration was all part of the Your Space Living service.
Many thanks to you and your team for all your hard work in making our beautiful kitchen.
All the best,
Pat and John.Mrs Collinson, Porthcawl, South Wales
