We were delighted to be involved this wonderful two floor extension for Mr and Mrs Hughes of Church Village South Wales. It was also great to be involved at such an early stage. The original architectural plans would have played havoc with the kitchen layout. The ceiling was to have been completely flat, with a window on the side wall. It was Jo Buckefield’s suggestion to angle the kitchen ceiling and install three Velux windows. This enabled her to design an uninterrupted bank of kitchen units that offer practical storage and sleek lines.
This is a perfect example of why a kitchen designer should be involved early on extension projects. Jo Buckefield’s talents extend beyond traditional kitchen layouts. She was able to see different layout options from the architectural plans. She was able to see how a simple change to the plans could make a huge difference to the space and how the kitchen could be incorporated. Jo is more than a kitchen designer, she’s a spacial designer.
This kitchen is a modern take on a classic design style. Mr and Mrs Hughes wanted a light and spacious room and that’s exactly what they received from this painted oak in muscle with a Silestone worktop in Iron Ore. The painted glass splash back in burgundy adds a striking splash of colour and makes this kitchen a true ‘one off’.
We are so pleased with the whole look and feel of the kitchen and that is down to your skill, vision, expertise and total dedication. You have been there at every step of the journey from initial design and right the way down to the finishing touches. Nothing has ever been too much trouble from a client who has been most demanding… thank you Jo!Mike & Nicky Hughes
